QUESTIONS & ANSWERS ABOUT WINTER CLINIC #2

1.  There are 8 Sundays between December 13, 2020 - February 28, 2021, (excluding 12/26, 1/3, 1/17 & 2/14), and 6 sessions, how do the "snow dates" fall into the schedule?

Answer:  It is winter,  we can expect to have a few dates where we need to cancel due to snow on the ground or cold and rainy conditions that will not be conducive to holding outdoor clinics.  We have therefore alloted 8 weeks to hold 6 outdoor clinics, assuming we will need to cancel on two occassions.

2. If a session needs to be canceled due to weather, when will we know?

Answer:    We will constantly monitor the weather conditions.  We will guarantee 6 sunday clinics and assume we will need to cancel 2 due to wintery conditions so we are already scheduling them into the schedule.  We will do our best to advise you as early as possible in the previous week if we will need to cancel an outdoor Sunday clinic.    We will notify you by email and it will be posted clearly in the scrolling marquee on home page of the website if a clinic date is cancelled.  Be sure to check the website before leaving the house.    www.fairfieldcountyunited.com

3. What if this is a bad winter with heavy snow and you are not able to find 6 Sundays to hold the clinics?

Answer:   If we cannot hold 6 outdoor clinics we reserve the right to hold 4 outdoor clinics and we will  hold 2 virtual clinics during the Sunday  12:00 - 1:15 time slot where players can join on a zoom clinic and we will hold the clinic virtual.   We will not hold more than 2 virtual clinics.    If we cannot hold 4 OUTDOOR clinics than we will reimburse you for that Sunday

4.   What are the 6 homework assignments that are part of the clinics?

Answer:   Following each session, and prior to the next the players will be sent,  via email, links to drills to review and skills to practice at home.  The drills will relate to the upcoming Sunday clinic as well as skills to practice during the week in preparation or as a follow up to the previous week clinic.   A player improves by visual learning and then practicing the skill on their own during the week.     Some homework will include watching international clips provided, again for visual learning of game concepts and strategies.    Homework will be sent to the email provided at registration.   We will need an adult email at registration, however we suggest adding the player email as well so they receive the necessary "homework" emails.

5.  Players will be put in PODS of 5 players.   How do the pods work?

Answer:  Due to COVID, we are taking every precaution possible.  Players / coaches are in masks the entire time.  Players are put into small groups  that they stay in and travel in between stations.  During Clinic Session 1 these groups were 10 or less.  We have reduced these groups ( PODS) to 5 players.    If you have a group of 5 players that you wish to be together and they are of equal skill level, email me the names and I will make those 5 players a POD.  Note the POD will only be made if all 5 players are completely registered.   If you do not have a group of 5 players and are registering individually, Kelly will put players together by skill set into groups of 5.   Groups of 4 or less can also request to be together and will get  additional players added to their group to equal 5 players per pod.

 6. What if players are forced to quarantine and need to miss a clinic?

Answer:    All players/parents/coaches are required to abide by the state mandated  rules and quarantine if tested positive or are contact traced.  They are therefore not allowed to attend the clinic. We are keeping the clinics small and need to pay our expenses so therefore cannot issue refunds in the event a player needs to quarantine.    All players will still receive the weekly homework session and can work on those on the Sunday they may need to quarantine.

7.  What is your refund policy for the clinics?

Answer:   Players will can cancel up to 24 hours PRIOR to the first clinic and receive a full refund.  Because our numbers are small and our clinic size is limited, we will not issue any refunds after 24 hours prior to the first clinic.

8.  Baby its cold outside!

Answer:   Yes it will be cold.  It is winter!  Players should dress accordingly in layers that include hats and gloves - NO  SHORTS!!!!.    Players can always remove layers once they get warmed up so better to come prepared.
